The Refugee Response has a library of books, educational games, and manipulatives located at on the first floor of our office. The library is managed by staff, and pick up/drop off should be arranged in advance according to staff availability.
These items are available to mentors and tutors volunteering with the Refugee Response to check out and borrow for use during sessions. Students who are visual or tactile learners, or those with competitive streak, may especially benefit from incorporating game like tools into their learning. Games can be adapted to suit different skill levels and learning objectives. Also available through this library are a selection of books that appeal to various cultures, offer stories in both English and another language, or target specific content or skill needs.
​Refugee Response mentors can browse the selection of items and place them on hold for check-out. We ask that you take responsibility for ensuring items are returned with all pieces in tact, and in good condition so that others in the program may also be able to enjoy them.
